Christmas Panto 2015

OK.... I know this may be a little bit of self congratulation, but I'm posting a quick message with regards to the Christmas Pantomime, broadcast live on SLave Radio on Jan 2nd.

As some of you will know, Debbie, the host of the #50's chatroom has always encouraged a pantomime atmosphere, and while it has always been fun to chat 'in character', it lacked form and structure.

During a skype conversation between myself, debbie, linz and maybe a couple of others, the topic arose, and without thinking through, I piped up "I'll write a script!! How about Jock and the beanstalk?". Nobody particularly questioned the idea and it was met with approval, and no other suggestions... and so it fell to me, with no clue about how to tackle the project! (I have made a comparision with someone buying a motorbike because they look like fun, but forgetting they don't know how to ride!!)

Anyway... I'm not here to blow my own trumpet about how brilliantly I wrote... I threw together something which vaguely captured the atmosphere and style required... BUT....

I HAVE TO GIVE A HUGE SHOUT OUT AND GREAT BIG THANK YOU....

to all the people who joined forces and acted out the performance I had written. I'm so happy to see that everyone got into the spirit of it and had a good time on that great night!

As a collective, you were wonderful, but I shall break with tradition and praise each individually...

Sir Bud as Jock, who graciously suffered all the comments about him in the script! A STAR!
Debbie as Jock's Mum, who ran the show on the night and played her part admirably!
Dawn, stepping in for Linz at the last minute, and got into the acting spirit of it all so well.
Sandi, who took over Dawn's original role and did an admirable job as the kindly old lady.
Phil, who took the part of the evil giant, and truly showed his desire to have some fun!
Emma, who was brilliant as the cow and the mischevious leprecunt
And finally...
To Roy, who despite the lack of any other roles, was happy to be included as an incompetent actor who turned up with the wrong script!!

All of you guys and gals did a great job and made me proud of a show I threw together with no knowledge at all... THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

And one last comment... I'm already thinking of next year's panto... I guess I'll be lumbered/honoured with the task again!!

Thanks again...
